Bio: Anda Hassan (@andahassan) is a feminist leader from Abyan governorate, and she is the head Human Development Foundation in Abyan. Anda has extensive experience in supporting conflict-affected communities, as she worked in several relief initiatives to support displaced people from Aden and Lahj in Khanfar district in Abyan during the war of 2015. In addition to that, she worked with CARE International as a relief supervisor for the vulnerable families in Abyan. She is a former member of the relief committee in Khanfar, Abyan governorate, where she worked on the issues of food, health and shelter relief, psychological support, and awareness of mine risks. Anda works in child case management and in the gender, gender-based violence programs at the Abyan Women's Union.

She is one of the feminist leaders in the Track II project that Search for Common Ground works with. During the early presidential elections in 2012, Anda worked in sub-committees in Lahj governorate as a member of the elections. In 2020, for the period of three months, she worked as the director of the office of the governor of the Khanfar district. Moreover, she is a trainer in the fields of project management and financial systems for initiatives, and she has led a “good example” project in partnership with AMIDEAST, which was funded by the US State Department.

Anda has extensive experience in education, as she worked for more than 10 years as a teacher in her district. Throughout her career, she was lead several positions, including Head of the Coordination, Communication, and Information Systems Department,

Also she was a Director of the Department of Comprehensive Education, the latest of which is the position of Acting General Director of Training and Rehabilitation in the Office of the Literacy and Adult Education Office Abyan.

Anda holds a BA in English Language Arts from the University of Aden.
