Bio: Arwa Al-Shameri (@arwa_Yemen) is a political activist and an academic researcher. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English Language Studies. She worked in the government sector in the Education Office in Taiz Governorate at the Department of Educational Guidance for 20 years. Al-Shameri worked at the University of Taiz, College of Law, as a professor of terms and legal texts in the English language. She worked in the College of Administrative Sciences as a professor of English language courses in the Departments of Accounting, Business Administration, and Tourism. She also worked as a professor at Al-Saeed University for a course in commercial law and international trade law in English, at the College of International Business Administration. 

Al-Shameri is an internationally accredited trainer in the field of Human Development and Psychological support. She is the director of Arwa Counseling Center and a certified instructor in the field of peace from the organization Safer World. She has a global membership for Family Counseling. Besides her expertise in academia, Arwa represented Yemen in many workshops on Peace and Women’s Political Empowerment. She was chosen to be among the most inflectional women leaders in the 21 Yemen Forum. She has many publications and a short-stories collection, titled Ghorba Al-Dhya.
