Bio: Basma Naseer( @basmanasser)  is an advocate and motivational speaker in humanism and human rights.  She is an outspoken feminist activist and advocate for gender equality, fighting for secularism and against racial discrimination and slavery in Yemen, as well as defending the "ethnic and sexual" LGBT "minorities, non-believers and atheists. After completing her BA in Mass communication - specialization in Radio and Television from Sana'a University, she started her career in mass communication and advocacy as a public speaker and advocate for human rights. She is co-founder of the Yemeni Secularists Organization, and of the Yemeni Feminist Voice organization. Basma is also a founding member of the Enlightenment Organization and  member of Women Solidarity Network.

She participated in a youth engagement  project to strengthen regional youth networks and promote human rights and democratic participation in the Middle East and North Africa region. She has also availed an opportunity to work for three  years at the Youth Leadership Foundation. Basma participated in the youth political project of the Youth Association for Development, and was a member of it in the same association. 

One of her strengths is her advocacy work in many human rights and civil organizations concerned with defending human rights, the rights of women and children, and combating racial discrimination against blacks in Yemen. She also worked with organizations to protect battered women as well as with organizations to defend people living with HIV and educate about its dangers. Related to this, she has experience with the National AIDS Program and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS. and have participated in many activities that are concerned with removing the stigma of people living with HIV in Yemen and abroad.
