Bushra Al-Amiri is a journalist and human rights defender. She has 23 years of professional experience in the journalistic field. She is currently the editor-in-chief of the Yemen Federal website and the head of the Independent Yemeni Women Media Network, in addition to her work as a program editor on the Yemen Satellite Channel.

Al-Amiri worked with many journalistic institutions inside Yemen and was the editor-in-chief of Al-Habak Economic Newspaper, which is the first specialized economic newspaper for women. Since 2022, she has worked as a press editor and writer in a number of Yemeni newspapers, most notably (Al-Woman - Al-Ayyam - Elaf - Al-Oula - Sawt Al-Umal - Akhbar Al-Youm) ).

Al-Amiri was distinguished by working for many years in dangerous environments, believing in conveying the voice of truth, defending human rights, and monitoring violations affecting civilians. Therefore, she was the general coordinator of the Media Network for Advocating Women’s Issues, sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund.

Al-Amiri participated as a media and human rights coordinator and consultant in a number of international organizations such as UNICEF, Save the Children, the International Islamic Relief Organization, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the United Nations Population Fund.

She also worked as a media coordinator in multiple non-governmental organizations such as the General Federation of Yemeni Trade Unions, the Human Rights Information and Training Center, the Manarat Center for Historical Studies and Future Strategies, and the Yemeni Women Journalists Forum.

She participated in many specialized courses and training in the fields of journalism, civil society, democracy and human rights. She had active participation in a number of sessions of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, which included preparing reports and written statements, as well as delivering oral statements among the items on the HRC agenda.
