Dr. Jeehan Abdul Ghaffar is a distinguished expert in sustainable development and peace with a rich and varied career spanning over two decades. Her work has focused on addressing global, regional, and national challenges related to poverty reduction, conflict resolution, climate change, human development, and gender issues. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar is widely recognized for her strategic thinking, adept problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in consensus-building skills that she leverages to establish collaborative alliances and address complex strategic, policy, corporate, and operational matters.

 Currently, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar is serving as a Senior Advisor to the Executive Director representing countries in the Middle East and North Africa and South Asia regions at the World Bank Group Board of Directors. In addition to being the advisor to the formal Dean of the WBG Board of Directors, her role involves providing valuable insights and guidance on a range of development issues in these regions. Prior to this, she held the position of Deputy Head at the United Kingdom Department of International Development (DFID) in Yemen, where she played a key role in shaping development initiatives. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar's career also includes notable roles such as a member of the Governance Team at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a researcher at the United Nations Development Fund for Women. Her contributions to these organizations have further solidified her expertise in the fields of governance, development, and women's empowerment. Throughout her career, Dr. Abdul Ghaffar has been a sought-after speaker, sharing her insights on various topics, including Yemen and the Middle East region, development strategies, conflict management and resolution, and women's empowerment. Her active involvement in the International Development Assistance and in the steering committee of the Global Agricultural and Food Security Program reflects her commitment to addressing critical development issues and international aid architecture. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University in the USA. As a Fulbright scholar, she earned her Master's Degree in International Development from the University of Denver, further enhancing her academic foundation and contributing to her comprehensive understanding of the complex challenges within the realm of international development

د.جيهان نواف عبد الغفار، خبيرة دولية في التنمية المستدامة والسلام ، كرّست أكثر من 20 عامًا في العمل على قضايا عالمية وإقليمية ووطنية متعلقة بالحد من الفقر وحل الصراعات والتنمية البشرية والنوع الاجتماعي. تشغل عبد الغفار حاليًّا منصب كبيرة مستشاري المدير التنفيذي في مجلس إدارة مجموعة البنك الدولي الممثلة لبلدان الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا ومناطق جنوب آسيا. كانت سابقًا نائبة رئيس دائرة التنمية الدولية التابعة للمملكة المتحدة في اليمن. كما كانت عضوة في فريق الحوكمة التابع لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي وباحثة في صندوق الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي للمرأة. حصلت عبدالغفار على درجة الدكتوراه في حل النزاعات من جامعة جورج ميسن في أمريكا ، وعلى درجة الماجستير في التنمية الدولية كمبتعثة ضمن برنامج الفولبرايت في جامعة دنفر الأمريكية.
