Bio: Muna Luqman (@Munaluqman) is the founder and chairperson of the Food for Humanity Foundation. She has over twenty years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing development and service programs with international donor organizations in many governorates. When the war erupted in Yemen, Muna devoted all her efforts and expertise in humanitarian response to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis through projects and community interventions, such as the Water for Peace Project, which serves ten thousand beneficiaries. 

Muna is active in the field of women, peace, and security. She is a founding member of the Women Solidarity Network, the largest women’s network in Yemen. She is a member of the Global Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL) and a member of the Human Rights Defenders Network, established by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter. She has diverse experiences in development, strategic, and legal work. Muna has participated as a spokesperson in many high-profile international NGOs and conferences, some of which took place at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, in New York, at the United Nations Environment Program, with Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), with UN Women, and at Peace Track Initiative (PTI). 

Muna participated in high-level meetings with the British government,  the European Union in Brussels, and with ICAN in London and Norway.  She recently briefed the Security Council on Yemen. She also briefed members of the US Congress on Yemen, calling for an end to the war and for women's participation in the peace process.

Muna is an Award recipient of The 8th International Young Women Peace Award.
