Bio:-  Ola Azab is an activist who focuses on humanitarian and human rights work. She is the founder of the Lilas Youth Volunteering Initiative which was founded in 2010, and in 2013 the initiative was chosen among two hundred global initiatives within the National Dialogue Conference in Saudi Arabia, Jeddah, and in the same year, the initiative was chosen as one of the three most successful initiatives in Yemen through the UNESCO Sana’a. Recently, the initiative was awarded again through the Federation of the Yemeni Community in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur 2020, in celebration of the International Volunteer Day.

Through the Lilas Initiative, Ola contributed a lot to supporting Yemeni youth, as the initiative coordinated many advocacy campaigns and demonstrations during the transitional period. The initiative also participated in many awareness campaigns about the importance of the political participation of youth and held the first consultative meeting between activists of Al-Jund district, Ibb, and Taiz. In 2013, In coordination with the Ministry of Human Rights, the initiative monitored violations against children in Taiz and covered them in the media.

 Ola has extensive media experience, where she focused writings on children's issues in Yemen, focusing on the impact of the political conflict on them. In addition to that she worked as a radio host, where she prepared and presented radio programs for the first two Yemeni Arab radio stations abroad, Al-Waha Radio in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia, and Yemen American Radio - Auckland, USA.

Ola is devoted to amplifying the voice of Yemenis inside and outside, for example, she covered several protests for Yemeni unions in Malaysia including once in front of the embassy, by the Students’ Union and another organized by the Yemeni Refugee Union in front of the Office UNHCR in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Ola holds a Bachelor’s degree in the English Language from Taiz University, in addition to various diplomas in media and marketing fields, such as a diploma in radio and television media from the Arab Media Center, a marketing diploma from Al-Fanar Training and Consulting Company, and diploma in online marketing and social media from Al-Qudsi Beez Company in Malaysia.
