Bio: Rabab is a young community activist and feminist. She currently works for the Food for Humanity Foundation in the field of relief and community development in the governorates of Aden and Taiz. Rabab is a trainer in women’s empowerment and has led several projects to train vulnerable women in income generation and project management as well as marketing through her role as project manager with the Women and Child Development Center. Because of her efforts, the capacity of tens of women from vulnerable backgrounds was raised and their livelihood was improved. She also carried out similar activities relating to education. One of her important achievements was running a competition for school children in year nine in Taiz on educational attainment through a general quiz, including a question on general knowledge. This was in 2017 because it was one of the worst years for students in Taiz and the impact was phenomenal to the extent that students’ interest in education was rekindled. Winners were celebrated in a grand event.

She also previously worked in field surveys in Taiz and Aden for the internally displaced persons affected by the war. In addition to her human rights and humanitarian work, she has participated in many development and research projects in the fields of health, education and nutrition. 

She also carried out many volunteer campaigns and contributed to spreading the word on the suffering of Yemenis in the traditional and digital media. She is considered one of the most prominent local activists on issues of humanitarian suffering and relief on social media. She is very active in women’s issues and a strong advocate for women’s rights. She received training on writing shadow reports on the CEDAW implementation and on women’s political rights. Rabab studied at the University of Aden, Faculty of Economics, Department of Monetary and Finance. Currently, she is attending an MA in the same major.
