Bio: Rana Ghanem (@RanaGhanem) is a politician and a human rights activist. She is the Assistant Secretary-General of the Nasserite Unionist Public Party and has been a member of the Union since 1991. She was the only woman in the delegation that presented the Government in Peace talks in both the Stockholm and Geneva 2018 meetings, led by the UN envoy’s office. She was also a part of the advisory team of the government delegation to the Yemeni peace talks held in Kuwait in 2016.

Rana is a member of the National Authority for Oversight of the implementation of the National Dialogue Outcomes. She was also the Second Deputy to the head State-Building team in the National Dialogue Conference.  She is a trainer in human rights and has conducted lots of training in this field. Ghanem worked for 5 years in the Development field in the Estejaba Project, which is supported by USAID. She also worked with many civil organizations, such as Sister Arab Forum for Human Rights, and worked as a Project Officer at Social Democratic Forum. 

Through her work, Rana participated in preparing several studies and research papers in politics and human rights.  Ghanem is also a teacher in the Higher Institute for Teacher Qualification. She holds a Master's Degree in Education (Curricles and Teaching Methods) & is a member of the Women Solidarity Network.
