Bio:ٍSara Ahmed (@SaraAhmed0000) is the founder and CEO of Madani Organization for Peace and Development, a Yemeni non-governmental organization concerned with peace, coexistence, development and promoting civic values. She is also the director of the Board of Directors office for the Al-maharia satellite channel. 

In addition to her human rights work, Sara gained media experience in television work from the first steps of production to broadcasting an integrated programmatic map. She also worked previously as an executive producer for news and the Human Rights Watch program for the Yemen Shabab channel. She has experience in the field of journalism since 2010, where she previously contracted with Al-Thawra Foundation for Press and Publishing and the Yemen Observer newspaper. She also participated in the 2012 WSU New Media Leaders Program. 

In terms of human rights and humanitarian work, Sara participated in many humanitarian campaigns, including: Launching a public signatures campaign calling on the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen to oblige the parties to the war to release all political prisoners and persons who are under house arrest or who are arbitrarily detained in accordance with Resolution 2216. She also launched campaigns and calls for peace and carried out activities to support women towards a Yemen free of violence against women and girls. 

Sara is interested in researching the role of women and empowering them in building peace in Yemen. Therefore, she participated in several UNESCO and UNFPA workshops on gender equality and gender-based violence, and volunteered in humanitarian aid initiatives and programs inside Yemen. She is a member of many community events, including the Women’s Solidarity Network. Sara holds a BA in Journalism, and is currently attending an MA in Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Aydin University.
