Bio: Threa Almontaser (@threawrites) is a multidisciplinary artist and critically acclaimed author based in New York. her recent poetry collection “The Wild Fox of Yemen '' which was published by Graywolf Press in 2021.
She is an award-winning writer, she won First Book Award from the Academy of American poets, the Brooklyn Public Library Literature Prize, inaugural winner of the Maya Angelou Book Award, and was shortlisted for both the National Book Award and the Pen/Voelcker Award. Threa's work has been published for the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, Best New Poets, and Best Small Fictions. Library Journal’s Starred Review said of the collection, “Those not as familiar with Yemeni history or the Arabic language will assuredly be inspired to learn more.”
She is the recipient of writing fellowships from Duke University, the Fulbright Program, and National Endowment for the Arts. She holds a masters in fine arts from North Carolina State University. She currently teaches English to immigrants and refugees in her area and believes that even in troubling times, the artistic gaze is important and impactful in showcasing what is humane and what isn’t.

السيرة الذاتية: ثريا المنتصر (threawrites) هي فنانة متعددة التخصصات ومؤلفة. مجموعتها الشعرية الأخيرة "ثعلب اليمن البري" التي نشرتها مطبعة جراي وولف عام 2021.
هي كاتبة حائزة على جوائز ، حيث فازت بجائزة الكتاب الأول من أكاديمية الشعراء الأمريكيين ، وجائزة بروكلين لأدب المكتبة العامة ، والفائزة الأولى بجائزة مايا أنجيلو للكتاب ، وتم إدراجها في القائمة القصيرة لجائزة الكتاب الوطني و Pen / Voelcker جائزة. تم نشر أعمال ثريا لجائزة Pushcart ، وأفضل ما في الشبكة ، وأفضل الشعراء الجدد ، وأفضل القصص الصغيرة. قالت Starred Review من مجلة الحرية عن المجموعة ، "أولئك الذين ليسوا على دراية بالتاريخ اليمني أو اللغة العربية سوف يكونون بالتأكيد مصدر إلهام لمعرفة المزيد."
